ASKING PERSONAL INFORMATION QUESTIONS

According to Wikipedia, Physiotherapy is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention carried out by Physical Therapists.

Those are my students from Physiotheraphy during the first English class. I asked them to interview their classmates in order to ask them personal information questions. Then, they had to talk about their partners in front of the class.

For instance: She is Diana. Diana is 19 years old and she lives in Santiago. Her phone number is 999-9999. She is single and she does not have children.

TEACHING ACADEMIC WRITING AT UDELAS THROUGH THE CAROUSEL STRATEGY

The Carousel Strategy is a helpful way to teach a topic. First of all, you need to provide students with cardboard and markets. You fix the cardboard on the wall with the titles that you want they complete with information about the theme.

Ask them to form groups of three or four students. After that, they have to read the material provided by the teacher concerned with The Writing Process. Then, they are located in front of each cardboard as you can see on the pictures and they have to write a sentence related to the asked data. After one minute, they have to move to the another cardboard and they write something about the title. At the end, they have to write on each cardboard without repeating the data.

Finally, the teacher reads the sentences correcting spelling and grammar mistakes with students.

FATHERS`DAY POEM By YAMILETH URRIOLA de HERNÁNDEZ

This poem was created to teach my students in celebration of Father's Day. I hope it can be helpful for you...

Father's Day

Fathers are special
to children at home
fathers are heroes
to daughters and sons.

*******************

They take care of families
they support their needs
and they are always able
to love their kids.
