A BRIEF HISTORY OF TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION

What are we waiting for? Technology is everywhere and our students are digital learners. We must provide them opportunities to access learning as others are doing around the world. It is not possible that teachers are frustating their students teaching as 20 years ago while they are receiving a digital background at home through social networks, messenger, cell phones, Ipod and Ipad, etc. Fear is the main enemy of those teachers who pretend to apply computers only for typing homework assigments. We are living a new technological era. We need to be updated to be competent to face the society demands.

ENGLISH WEEK OPENING SHOW

My students from VI Semester of English Teaching Bachelor's Degree were participating during the Fifth English Week Opening Show at Udelas, Santiago. They enjoyed singing songs for teaching English to kids. 

Explaining the Final Project of University Model Education Course at Udelas

In this opportunity, I had to explain the final project of University Model Education Couse at Udelas. It was fantastic because I exposed the group project and everybody was paying attention to my presentation. I felt great because this project consisted of a virtual magazine for our university.

TEACHING CLOTHES APPLYING TIC'S AND USING REALIA

For teaching clothes, I asked my students to listen a song about clothes at the lab. They could identify different clothes by singing this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFWm1sUCD_g

After that, I used realia for teaching them clothes and colors using a clothes line.

I asked them these questions: What is this? or What are these? for teaching singular and plural.

When they answered, I asked them What color is this? or What color are these?

Finally, I asked them: Do girls wear dresses?

Do boys wear pants? Do boys wear skirts?

Students answered Yes, they do or No, they do not.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO LA PONDEROSA RESORT IN CALABACITO

La Ponderosa Resort Trip was an activity developed with my groups from 1st and 2nd levels from Las Barreras Elementary School. We had a lot of fun identifying wild and farm animals at the zoo. Students could discriminate wild animals from farm ones. When they came back to classes I asked them to draw pictures of animals that they saw at the zoo.

Udelas celebrated its graduation in May. I represented the protocolo staff so we were working so hard because there were a lot of people attending that day. Serving is something that I love so much...I praise the Lord for giving me the opportunity to work at Udelas, too.

ENGLISH WEEK AT LAS BARRERAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The English Week celebration at Las Barreras Elementary School was a great experience at school. We had many contests. Students participated singing English songs, reciting poems, spelling words, drawing pictures, among others. 

We also had the participation of the English Department Coordinator from Ministry of Education, Eva Ramos.

INICIAL EDUCATION WEEK

That was the closing activity during the celebration of the Inicial Education Week at Las Barreras Elementary School. I was the presenter so I had a lot of fun.

It was amazing because children participated singing songs, acting and the school queen got choosen.

WILD ANIMALS SONG

This is a song for teaching wild animals to kids...It is easy to learn...Do you remember the song Pollito-chicken, gallina-hen?...You only have to sing this song using the music of that one...I created for my students at Las Barreras Elementary School in Santiago, Veraguas. I hope you can apply it in your classes...Songs are useful for learning...

That was the celebration of our school Anniversary. This is my son Najeg, my student Jannia and me. We enjoyed so much that day becuase the school queen got choosen. Jannia was a participant and she looked great with that costum. 

Teaching English through Techonology

Teaching English through Technology is a challenge that all teachers need to face day by day. Our digital learners are pushed to apply technology everyday. In fact, they are always using technological devices in their daily activities. We should be aware the importance technology has in Education and how it helps to get an effective and meaningful learning in our students.
